What do you do in your role at Imprint?

Keeping an eye on the overall business, making sure the team are happy and putting most of the processes in place. Also, purchasing stock and creating all the proofing, vectoring and graphical work. It can get very busy sometimes, but I thrive in those sorts of environments.

What do you like about working at Imprint?

Having a keen interest in the industry is why we set the business up, the flexibility allows me to spend time on continuing my professional development. The team has grown rapidly recently, and it has been good to see a lot of fresh faces in the office & seeing the business growing.

What is your background?

I originally studied sport science at Manchester metropolitan university where I achieved a 2:1. Working at ADYN studios stock taking, sourcing fabrics, dealing with manufactures and customers. This allowed me to pursue a business venture in Imprint. Having a keen interest in sport has really helped me hone my passion in this industry.

I keep fit by playing football 3 to 4 times a week, I have recently bought a mountain bike where I spend most of my time clearing my head. I spend a lot of my time learning new creative techniques and processes.

I am a huge people person, I wanted to create a vibrant atmosphere and I feel like it has been achieved, everyone is always in good spirits, no one feels the need to put their headphones in as they’re all communicating with each other, it’s a very social team. But the main thing I love about working here is the job creation side of things, it has been great taking in local Tees-sider’s & giving them a job.

What is your background?

My background is mainly Operations manager. Running companies in an array of industries, varying from retail – hospitality, property & sportswear. I act as a trouble shooter for companies, I go in, find the problem. Identify strengths/weaknesses & streamline the company to make it more efficient & sustainable. I am Teesside born & bred & have always had the desire to stay in the area as I have a strong respect for the hard-working nature of the community up here. One of my proud points was being awarded National growth specialist of the year for Pizza Hut 2 years running. Out of all the stores in the U.K it was rewarding to see my hard work being recognised.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

Finally getting some sleep & rest haha! I am a father of 5 & family is everything to me, so I try spending as much as my rest time with them, travelling the globe & sharing experiences. Every is a learning day & my mind does not switch off, so I am always look for what is new & exciting happening in the industry so then we can jump on it & grow even further.

Not only is the atmosphere a real “buzz” but the flexibility allows me to continue my professional development which in return will allow me to have an advantage in the industry.

I am self-taught in several Adobe applications with the help of online tutorials and industry work placements. I have recently completed two online courses on graphic design rules and principles, I always look forward to learning more and seeing what the future holds.

I am an avid Middlesbrough FC fan, thankfully I hold a season ticket so I get myself to every game I can. I typically keep myself active by playing football & most recently started to play Golf. I used to go the gym but cycling to and from work every day seems to be good enough for me right now

Lee Waite Head Of Digital

What do you do in your role at Imprint?

As the title suggests I specialise in digital marketing. But the main duties I focus on daily is website design and graphic design. I like to think I am quite humble, so I do not see myself ordering the marketing team around, it is more of a team effort where we all work cohesively and pitch in ideas together.

What do you like about working at Imprint?

I’m relatively new here, but I have still enjoyed the time that I have spent here, it’s good to be back in the office and enjoy the positive team spirit (even during this hard time of Covid-19). It is great being with a lot of like-minded creatives (which I know has been said by someone else, but it’s true), we all gel well together and are constantly teaching each other new skills.

What is your background?

My first job was working at McDonald’s many years ago! But I started developing a huge passion for creativity, which led to me studying graphic design at Teesside university, where I graduated with a 2:1. I’m actually a qualified teacher as well as I earned my PGCE in graphic design. But over the last 15 years I have been heavily focused on doing freelance work, which eventually led to me working for advertising companies. I have a long-standing knowledge of this industry & have watched the game change on a yearly basis and have enjoyed this transition into digital marketing.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I have three amazing children to care for, so most of my time goes on looking after them, going on cute walks or playing around in the garden. When I get the chance, I enjoy watching the World’s strongest man competition & the boxing, I love that sort of stuff! If I need to switch off and kick back, I will delve into a bit of gaming or screen-printing some fan art.

Emily Dey Lead Fashion Designer

What do you do in your role at Imprint?

I design both men and women’s clothing for all of the brands that we work on, but currently I do all the operations of my own brand Lilly & Rose, which is a new women’s wear brand that is tailored to a eccentric, retro demographic, a modern take on a retro approach. I also work within the manufacturing side of the business honing my talents with sewing, embroidery and pattern creations using state of the art software including Clo3d, Marvellous Designer and many adobe applications.

What do you like about working at Imprint?

I get inspired working in an office environment, being able to collaborate with like-minded creatives and bounce creative concepts to reflect a robust solution. I have the freedom to express my own journey and inspirations which is amazing.

What is your background?

I have recently completed my Degree at Teesside university in which I achieved a First in Fashion Design. Alongside my course I was given the fantastic opportunity to work here at imprint applications on a work placement basis, this enabled me to learn and grow within the industry and build on my designer toolkit.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

In a way I am lucky because I get to turn my passion and hobby into an actual work life. It gives me another meaning to be happy and confident in what I do. In my down time I love to spend my time reading up on the latest fashion trends via fashion magazines and online sources.
